How You Will Grow
The Summer Bridge Program allows you to concentrate on academics, while preparing you to enter college confidently, knowing you can excel at UNC-Chapel Hill. You will sort out your strengths and weaknesses, and will grow through practicing appropriate learning and study strategies. Just as the gardener grows stronger through work and finds delight in the crop, you'll enjoy developing talents and the fruits of your time spent in Carolina's Summer Bridge.
Summer Bridge will put you ahead of other entering first-year students making the transition from high school to college. The program begins with your enrollment in two college-level courses and the accompanying academic work. You'll also become more familiar with the University and the town of Chapel Hill. Plus, you'll make new friends while having fun.
Most students find the program demands a great deal of time and effort. Even with the busy schedule, you should come to feel comfortable within the close-knit group of students. The program's supportive and structured environment offers somewhat of a "home away from home" for you from mid-June to early August. You'll receive personal attention from the program's staff and faculty. In fact, smaller classes during Summer Bridge promote students and instructors working closely together.
